The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce held a large meeting in the Hazard building with committees named to handle finance legislation information statistics railroads and marine sanitation and more A special committee will press for better depot facilities at lanes and a November river transportation gathering in Georgetown aims to secure congressional appropriations for river and harbor improvements The group also plans a members smoker next week and promises further coverage in The Daily Item The meeting emphasized unity for a Greater Georgetown In a light note a shopper quizzed a clerk about eggs with a playful miscue reflecting local color.
