Constables raid gamblers under Carey-Cothran law

Killing Near Kingstree Over Right of Way
In Kingstree on October 1 Henry Farrell a Black man was killed by Dick Spivey a White man after a dispute over road right of way. Spivey and his brother Alex attempted a knife attack. Farrell was carried home for treatment and a coroner's inquest is set for tomorrow. The incident occurred near the Court House shortly after adjournment.
