Spartanburg Oct 6 Jas B Hodges principal of South Side public school was arrested on a warrant charging assault and battery sworn by J P McLaughlin whose son Melvin was whipped by the teacher The report states punishment was severe with injuries described as great welts and cuts Hodges posted bond and a preliminary hearing is set for next Saturday.
