Marine Hoboes Return After Coastal Odyssey

Three Jacksonville youths known as The Marine Hoboes toured the Atlantic coast for six months aboard the Harpoon II, a 28-foot power launch. After a near wreck at Moore's Inlet they limped to Hammocks for repairs and planned to finish their Montreal bound trip, having started May 4 with $80.

Labor Hard to Get In South Carolina Railroad Grade

Florence November 13 It is learned the grading force of the South Carolina Western railroad will return to this section to complete the extension from Florence to Georgetown. Work advances on Andrews to Allison and trains reach Hemmingway eight miles from Allison. Bridges over the Pee Dee and Lynch's river are being rushed and grading nearly ready for rails and ties. Labor is scarce and wages are high.
