Improvements Proposed for Opera House Exit System
The council accepted a report from the opera house safety committee detailing needed changes. Proposals include an 8 foot platform from the door to the roof of Georgetown Grocery Co, widening the main exterior door to 7 feet, moving the ticket office, removing a row of chairs, installing rope ladders at front corners, replacing wooden stairs with iron, and abandoning the room beneath.
