Dr. B C Hyde resumed testimony in a Kansas City criminal case saying he bought cyanide to kill vermin and used cyanide on towels, denying giving any to humans. He described planned bacteriological work and misplacement of germs after a trip to New York.

San Bernardino California May 9 Paul Hemmerton a sheepman and prospector tied by the feet and one hand to a crude cross died after inflicted wounds. He had become obsessed by Halley's comet fearing doomsday and begged rescuers to leave him.
