R T Wilson a butcher was shot and killed this morning while walking from his home in the Waverly suburb toward his market. The killer's identity remains uncertain with a possible hold up motive. a warrant has been sworn for Jim Gardner and he is jailed.

Plan an Immense Truck Farm at Laurel Hill
Georgetown May 2 A prospecting party from Mullins South Carolina and Lewisburg West Virginia visited Georgetown on a river launch. They toured along the Waccamaw seeking locations and are said to plan a large truck farming operation at Laurel Hill aided by suitable soil and conditions. The party included J B Boatwright Edgar Smith Lide Smith and George N Davis. They left Georgetown after one day and returned home. Mr R C Griggs bought a new hack and added a second horse to serve travelers and catch trains.

Moses Williams, an Indian resident of Horton Kansas, says his Union depot ticket was stolen last night. He told depot master Lee Mitchell that two fellow Indians were missing and searched his pockets finding only a half pint of whisky, prompting speculation the theft came from his companions.
