A Queer Play In Baseball from 1868 Pastimes of Chicago
In a Chicago 1868 game between the Pastimes and the Occidentals of Peoria a liner hit third baseman Moynihan’s hand and stuck there. Moynihan’s paralysis of the hand delayed the ball, while a runner from first scored. five minutes passed before the ball could be pried free.

Rail order on package labels extends 60 days
The Missouri railroad commission ordered Southern Express to label every shipped package with collect or a designated tag.
