A Georgetown letter questions the George Town Railway and Light Co plan to build a street railway. The writer urges proof of Case’s lighting capability and equipment, argues for local control of a $35,000 plant, and warns against committing to a railway franchise without solid evidence.

A burning negro cabin near the Kenawha Company plant killed seven members of Mention’s family. Coroner H H Burroughs led an inquest. witnesses offered limited detail. The verdict found accidental burning caused the tragedy despite signs suggesting murder.
R A Richey found guilty of criminal assault on a young white girl in Abbeville on March 4 with a mercy recommendation. He received a 14 year sentence in the State Penitentiary and collapsed into convulsions shortly after sentencing.

An old style advertisement asserts a cure for catarrh with claims from F. J. Cheney & Co. Toledo and endorsements from Walding Kinnan & Marvin. It promotes Hall's Catarrh Cure as an internal remedy affecting blood and mucous surfaces and offers testimonials and free sample testimonials.
An old advertisement touts Foley's Orino Laxative as a remedy for dull heavy feverish feeling and constipation. It promises gentle movement of bowels through the intestinal tract and broad relief, with claims of not producing pain or irritation. The ad notes availability at all druggists.
Darby Odom, a white man known as rence alias Darby Odom, was jailed after confessing to killing Charles Golden, David Gartman, and Joseph Stokes at Citronelle. Deputy Byrd found Golden dead at Odoms gate with Buckshot wounds. Gartman shot in shoulder and lung. Stokes shot in chest and under ear while plowing.
Everett Washington reports a rumor that ten people were found alive in a car buried under snow near Wellington. Officials have not confirmed the claim as crews dig through wreckage amid a storm and railway lines struggle to relay word.
