Georgetown Notes and Local Happenings From the Region
A collection of city news mentions travelers returning from New York and Charleston, local visits, and social notes. The Georgetown Rifle Guards get a major promotion, a concert at the Elks home is planned to aid Union prizes, and the Law and Order League and Company F hold meetings. Reports cover a Cape Romaine fishing trip, marriages, business plans for a large wholesale house, and a bridge bond discussion for Columbia township. A street quarrel results in injuries, Branchville reports a seven foot alligator, and a remarkable sight restoration case in Cherokee is noted.
