One Bid Received for Sampit River Dredging Project
Only one bid was received for dredging the Sampit River mouth in Winyah Bay South Carolina following a June 20 1907 newspaper notice by Captain George P Howell United States Army Corps of Engineers. P Sanford Ross Incorporated of New Jersey submitted the bid to remove 170000 cubic yards of sand 920 stumps and 40 logs at prices 199 cents per cubic yard for sand 1500 dollars per stump and 5 dollars per cubic yard for logs. The proposed plant includes a clam shell dredge and two 7 or 14 machines with a daily capacity of 800 cubic yards.
