Dredge Report on Pee Dee River Shoals From Georgetown to Cheraw
A 1907 inquiry reply from Capt. Howell details shoal dredging on the Pee Dee River from Thompson Creek to Cheraw. The Reid Whiteford dredge has worked at multiple shoals, with a 3 1/2 foot controlling depth toward Cheraw, removal of Society Hill Shoals expected by Sept 10, and continuous dredging funded by Congress to maintain a 3 1/2 foot channel.
