Tillman Commended For Lorimer Vote By Supporters
Washington July 17 Senator Tillman has received several letters praising his vote for Lorimer with one from W S Fitzpatrick of Kansas saying his support reflects national courage and conscience. He has not received any letters criticizing his action. A Los Angeles man also praised him for opposing the two battleship program and warned against weakening naval strength over the Japanese question.

The first bale of the new cotton crop arrived in New Orleans and sold at 11 AM in Vanities Alley outside the Cotton Exchange. Dreuile & Co. bought it for 23 cents per pound, weighing 512 pounds and classed as strict middling. It was grown in San Benito Texas and shipped from Houston to Norman Mayer and Co.
