Georgetown Board to Build Mingo Creek Bridge

The Georgetown County Board discusses constructing a steel draw bridge at Mingo Creek with Williamsburg County sharing half the cost. Johnson to Atlanta to seek release from a prior bridge contract and to obtain bids and specs. A $40,000 drainage loan request is referred to the county attorney. Dispensary funds amount to 4478.10 and a $25 reward is paid for a chain gang escapee.

Cornelius Nolan of the New York Fire Department engine 101 revived Dan the company horse after a trolley crash left him blind. The driver treated the horse with borax in warm water for 30 hours and Dan regained the ability to discern objects, a feat veterinarians deemed unlikely.

Seaman E J Walsh Dies After Georgia Accident

The seaman E J Walsh died at Chelsea Naval Hospital yesterday. He is the ninth fatality from the battleship Georgia disaster in Cape Cod Bay last Monday. Twelve others remain hospitalized, with none expected to recover.
