Donald Mackay and partners of Mackay and Company are sued for 100000 by Ivan Chaikin a Paris banker in Supreme Court alleging a fraudulent stock deal that allegedly harmed three of Chaikin's clients. Chaikin's testimony was taken in court.
A Paris broker reports purchasing $100 000 of Randolph Macon Coal Company bonds from Mackay & Company based on claims the firm owned 47000 acres of coal land valued for agriculture beyond the bond value. The coal company later declared bankruptcy and interest on the bonds ceased.
