In Strangsville Ohio August 8 a pitched clash with bank robbers left one man wounded as farmers and a posse pursued the bandits. Three robbers were seen near the Farmers and Merchants Bank attempting to blow the safe. Citizens fired as the outlaws fled and the gang retreated after a wounded companion was carried away. Another dispatch said one robber was wounded and others fled. captured man refused to reveal their hideout.
Reporter visits Springwood plantation on the Black River owned by Mr LaBruce. The oak grove impresses as historic and fine rice crops are seen. Manager Mr J Burnett runs the operation on a business basis, reflecting LaBruce as a thoughtful employer.
