Sister Claims Estelle Reid Murdered in Naples

DuPont seeks distillery start at Georgetown site

Columbia April 30. The DuPont Powder Company applied for domestication to start a large distillery at Georgetown May list to produce ethyl alcohol from Atlantic Coast Lumber Corporation wood waste. Secretary of State McCown says approval awaits properly filed papers.

Hyatt enters race for governor amid Methodist alignment

Columbia April 28 report that F H Hyatt of Columbia life insurance general agent and prominent Methodist may enter the race for governor, joining C L Blease T G McLeod and C C Featherstone as Methodists pursuing the office. An acre of corn produced a spectacular yield under intensive care by Mr. Drake. The planting included wide rows, multiple harrowings, guano and nitrate applications, and careful soil management. On June 29 the plot measured 296 48 147 by 147 feet, producing claims of up to 300 bushels with witnesses present.
