Wolter Sentenced to Death for Ruth Wheeler Murder
Albert W. Wolter was condemned in General Sessions court to die in the electric chair at Sing Sing during the week of June 6 for the murder of six year old Ruth Wheeler. Judge Foster noted Wolter's trial fairness and cited impressions from medical examiners regarding sanity. He was sent back to the Tombs and later moved to Sing Sing.

Swift retribution for son who beat mother
New York April 27 A Jersey farmer William West of Wollestown formerly respected is dead after a violent assault on his mother Mrs West followed by a house fire that destroyed the dwelling. West died on the rafters as neighbors arrived and his companion survived drunk. The elderly woman died from the shock a short time after learning of the fire.
