Bloody Street Duel in Bernice Leaves Deaths and Wounds
In Bernice Louisiana on April 20 a street duel between C. J Morton and W F Barham left one spectator dead and four others wounded. Morton and Barham were both hurt though not seriously. Morton’s 7 year old son was fatally struck as Morton was stepping from an Arkansas Southern train with his wife. T W Clark was killed and Thomas Reeves shot in the thigh. Conductor Alford and another male passenger were wounded.

Jealous bookkeeper ends his life after heartbreak
Edward R. Taylor a 25 year old bookkeeper at 101 H street shot himself in the temple in Washington after calling Regie Gargas at 1919 Pennsylvania Avenue and finding she walked with a rival. A man at Regie's home tried to calm him but failed.
