Geneseo Sunday school picnic parade a large success
The Geneseo Sunday schools held a Sunday school picnic and parade last Saturday. Nearly one thousand participated in the parade led by the Geneseo band, with schools from the area represented by grades. After the march a program at the park featured songs, readings, and a township organization. Dr. Roy Coffman urged strong church and Sunday school work and practical organization. Hobson Missed Galva Chautauqua Engagement
Captain R. P. Hobson, famed for Spanish American War exploits, arrived in Galva on Tuesday but learned his booking agency had mislisted the town. John R Like, a Plainview Iowa pioneer teacher for more than two decades and a University of Iowa graduate, died at Mercy hospital Davenport after being overcome by heat on a Davenport street. He was 53 and left a wife and daughter.
