The school house will get a new roof. shingles are on the ground. Mrs. Robert Hughes and four children from Foater Iowa stay with her mother. Misses Mary and Belle Searle returned from Chicago. HW Hand and family returned home Monday. John Stobl began taking out coal from a slope to supply the local trade.
Fifty four Normalites attended the cession of the Henry County Teachers Institute at Kewanee last week. Milas Myrtie L. Castor of St. Louis succeeds Mr. Corrett as shorthand and typewriting teacher. Prof. Vook instructed Advanced Grammar at Kewanee, and music instruction will include piano organ mandolin violin guitar and vocal. The lawn social for the Senior Class will be Sept 9 and Miss Hubbard resumes Latin German and Literature teaching. Prof. B. W. Phillips and Miss Nina D. Withrow join the staff next week.
