Rev Edward A Harris of Sheffield will deliver the Decoration Day address. Harris, pastor of the Congregational church, is described as a rising young man with a background in business and ministry. He has shown versatility, editing the Sheffield Times and engaging in local civic life, and is set to speak at the memorial observance.
At the Champaign state interscholastic meet Kewanee High athletes posted a creditable performance. The squad amassed 55.13 points, with Hodes winning the 440 yard dash and Wall Nance tying for third in the pole vault. Nance helped set records in both the broad jump and pole vault, while Hodge excelled in the 440 and a 55 second sprint.
The Post Office announces renewal deadlines for various newspaper frequencies to retain second class mailing status. Arrears subscribers are urged to remit at once. A local notice threatens legal action to stop Sunday hunting and to ban trespassing on farms. End of list includes numerous signatures and a faded furniture-store closing line.
