In Geneseo on March 23 1893 Mr Graves rejects claims he is a candidate backed by the Electric Light Co stating he sought no such backing and would enforce city laws. He cites past disputes over contracts and bills with the company and questions Mr Kilners assertions while asserting his independence and candidacy for the conservative portion of the people.
