Geneseo Man Dies After Falling From Train Near Green River
Charles A Carlson of Moline was killed when he fell beneath a Rock Island train while riding the bumper era. Lafferty, his companion, warned him as they drifted between Bloomington and Moline. An inquest in Geneseo attributed death to being struck by a train along the railroad right of way. Carlson, 81, left Moline about a month earlier after a police court discharge and is survived by his parents, a brother, and two sisters.

Concrete Barn Plan Reflects New Farm Building Trend
The first term in Northern Illinois to adopt concrete farm structures is F Barenthin of Yorktown in Bureau County. He proposes a 40 by 50 foot concrete barn with walls one foot thick at the base and eight inches at the eaves, with a lumber roof. Farmers monitor the experiment as lumber prices rise and fear further lumber shortages may push concrete construction.
