Geneseo enacts a law banning cigarette use by minors and restricting manufacture and sale of cigarettes in the state. The city also adopts Ordinance No. 1 regulating sewer tapping requiring permits, fees and building by building connections with strict penalties for violations.
Ordinance No 2 proclaims a horizontal plane as the base for elevations in Geneseo, 124.5414 feet below the water table marker at the city building corner. All future elevations are described against this base, enacted May 31, 1907.
BrystaNbDER urges Geneseo authorities to keep State street free of teams during the Decoration Day march to protect schoolchildren veterans and G A R circle participants from potential injury. He argues the board of education should require streets be cleared for the parade and no following teams.
Ordinance creates the office of Superintendent of Streets in Geneseo Illinois. The City Council will annually appoint the officer at the first fiscal year meeting. The officer holds one year and until a successor is appointed. He supervises construction of concrete sidewalks and crosswalks and performs other duties as directed by the Council.

City officials certify filing and publication by June 7, 1907.
