Prohibitionists Name Ticket At Atlantic City Convention
The Prohibition party opened its national convention in Atlantic City with Temporary Chairman Howard denouncing the major parties and Roosevelt. He assailed Taft and Roosevelt, calling the old parties liquor controlled and unfit for reform, while criticizing the Chicago convention influences and the Panama Isthmus dispute. Eugene W. Chafin and Aaron S. Watkins were nominated by acclamation for president and vice president. A separate court decision held the sanitary district water power plant and related works assessable. Some trains between Chicago and the northwest feature electric cooking ranges.
