Cambridge and surrounding towns report a flurry of visitors and residents returning for holidays. Church services, obituaries, marriages, and local court matters occupy notes, with several residents and relatives mentioned across Galva, Burns, Munson, Woodhull, and Geneseo.
Jane Edward Clow of Osco visits the Larson brothers in Lynn. John Nordquist of Andover called here last Saturday. Mrs. P. J. Lindahl hosted tea last Friday. Johnson Bros. and Forsell shipped a carload of stock Monday. Mr. Albert Johnson and family visited friends abroad Tuesday. John Bierling of Andover visited Lynn early this week. Mrs. James Anterson of Andover called in town Tuesday. Joe Westerlund of Chicago made a brief town call last week. M. E. concert proceeds at Andover on Dec 28 amounted to 27.30 dollars. Meda Newstrom and brother of Woodhull visited last week. Misses Jessie and Nannie Long returned to Monmouth Monday to resume studies. Mrs. C. G Peterson has been ill but is convalescing. E. R. Norman stores ice for the coming season. Luther Westerlund has the job. Nettleton Berguson departed for Abingdon Monday to enter Hed ding College. Success to our Lynn boys. Frank Johnson of Burt county Nebraska visits relatives and friends and plans several weeks' stay.
Frank Deem attended the tri cities gathering on Monday while Joe Brady heals. Wm Irvin of Rock Island visited Sunday. A C D A play at town hall is promised Saturday night. Mrs H R Hanna travels to Chicago for the winter. Miss Alice Irvin is critically ill at her father’s Rock Island home. George Taylor of Burlington Iowa visits in town. Lodge members and others attend a tea party with James Nyialey of Sunoy AN.
Jan 3 report lists John Erdman finishing a 24 by 40 cattle shed and Geo T Freis building a hog house. Various locals host New Year dinners, schools resume, and play plans in Geneseo, Blue Island, and nearby communities with multiple visits and social events mentioned.
Mrs John Liken was quite ill last week. Theodore Bergren ground feed for Harry Lewis this week. Frank Liken entertained a Geneseo friend Friday and Saturday. Q us Barnes delivered his fat cattle to Geneseo Thursday for 4.50. Mrs. Alvin Robinson mourns the loss of sister Miss Lucie Altamus. Munsonites attended installation exercises by Geneseo Fraternal Tribunes Monday evening. Mrs. Nellie Richmond and son Clarence visited Geneseo with her brother Alex Walker. No services were held at the M E church last Sunday as the minister is a student at Abingdon and missed the appointment. Mrs. Black and daughter Lillian returned to Woolward Winds after visiting cousin Mrs. Jay Douglas.
