Ebenezer Campmeeting Opens Under Favorable Outlook
The eleventh annual Ebenezer Campmeeting began Thursday evening August 20 under favorable conditions. Rev. C. G. Anangst leads with local pastors Schmids, Countryman and Keagle assisting. attendees include E. O. Rife of Ottawa, E. K. Yeakle of Chicago, E. R K. Hershey of Aurora, and Prom D. EB Thomas of Le Mars College. The opening session featured a sermon on Joy as a factor in Christian service and emphasized experiences of pardon, assurance, renewal, service, and hope. A Sunday-school of over 600 enjoyed an inspired day with a sermon from Rev. Yeakel and gathering prayers. An open-air service near the well drew a large crowd before a heartful sermon by Rev. Rife. The day concluded with many seeking spiritual benefit rather than mere recreation, and community members shared in the weekend’s friendship.
