London Gazette Recap of Sentences and Harvest Report

From the London Gazette a note on impending sentences includes two condemned to death, one banished forever, others to perpetual imprisonment for attempts against the King. An agitator is to be hanged in effigy, with related penalties. Berlin reports a generally good harvest offset by hail damage in a few villages about six weeks prior.

Young thief arrested after shop thefts in Newcastle

In Newcastle on September 11 a young man entered watchmaker Mr Harrison's shop at the Head of the Side and offered to exchange old plate for a watch. He produced silver items and a gold set, but Mr Harrison suspected theft and delayed action. A magistrate sent officers to search. they found more silverware and trinkets in his trunk. He confessed after being shown mourning rings, claiming the stolen goods belonged to a London lawyer and a Kent doctor. He was committed to Newgate. The man, a Scotsman now living in London, had previously absconded from a Tyne-bridge apprenticeship.

Princess Wilhelmina of Hesse Darmstadt betrothed

Reports from Petersburgh state that Princess Wilhelmina of Hesse Darmstadt has professed faith for months and will be betrothed to the Grand Duke with a marriage planned around October to coincide with his birthday. Warsaw dispatch dates August from foreign papers.

Empire-wide sentences in Poland plot and Irish reform talk

The Third Edition on Game Laws Dialogue by a Gentleman

A historical notice describes The Third Edition containing tables on Hares Partridges and Pheasants with penalties offences and recovery for game laws. It lists a dialogue between a Lawyer and a Country Gentleman on game laws and penal provisions.
