A report describes a child who suffered a puncture wound but did not bleed, with a prior smallpox history in London. The account notes a single smallpox pustule after nine days and argues that one natural infection provides protection against a second entrance of the disease, supported by the case.
A weekly column opens the editors corner with a harsh critique of alleged government misrepresentations. The author lists supposed lies about Britain, Falkland Islands, Lloyds policy, presses in Newgate, press liberty bills, and court visits, predicting rising patriotic deceit as winter passes.
A long list of arrivals at various ports includes Rebecca from Malaga and Lady Elizabeth from London as well as several ships returning to or leaving English ports. Reports describe the Lord Mayor's progress to Rochester and public dinners, plus gossip about court and political notices. Also noted are judicial tensions in Antigua, shipwrecks, ship movements, and local crimes, with details on the Dover garrison, thefts, and arrests.
