Shipwreck and counterfeit buckles lead to Old Bailey commit

In a London news sketch three incidents are noted. A ship named Syren encountered a gale near Vauxhall, with sailors accused of leaving tables without paying. A man was examined at the Rotation-office for counterfeiting a lion-marked buckle stamp. silversmith John son testified the buckles were bare metal stamped, and a constable secured the prisoner.
