Five men brought before Bow Street bar in a major break-in case
At Bow Street, James Grant, Thomas Coxon, Robert Andrews, Thomas Franquet, and Aaron Pierson faced the bench after Thomas Spence reported a house in Bruton Street was robbed of plate and goods. Watchmen and patroles identified the suspects, with Coxon dropping keys and a pistol. Franquet and Pierson were later seized near the watch-house. The court rewarded vigilant patrollers and committed the pair for re-examination. Additional testimony described a Wych Street public house raid, a confrontation with armed suspects, and another charge of a disorderly house. The Great Seal granted a dispensation to Rev George Greaves to hold two benefices. A Droitwich rector, Henry Roberts, died recentemente, and James Limborough, once a partner in Spitalfields, also passed away, with charitable legacies noted.
