Majefty's AmbaiTador Extraoidwiary at Madrid, with the account, that, in compliance with his Majefty's -demand of fatisfacYion for the capture of the Britifh vefiels at Nootka, a Declaration was figned on the 24th of July, by Count Florida Blanca, in the name cf his CathoRc Majefty ; and that the fame .as accepted in his Majefty's name, by his Majefty's Ambaffador, who was thereupon to proceed to the difcuffion of the matters depending between the t'.a) Courts, with a view to a Definitive Arrangement. . " The Declaration above referred to, will be ^immediately publiflicd .in a Gazette Extraordinary, which will be forwarded to your Lordihip as foon as it is printed. The late Earl of Guildford was, in addition to the titles mentioned in our laft, Lord Lieutenant and Cuftcs Rotulorum for the county of Somerfet, Recorder of Gloucefter and Taunton, one of the Elder Brethren of the Trinity-Houfe, Prefidenf of the Foundling Hofpital and the Afylum, and Governor of the Turkey Company and the Ohar-ter-Houfe. Eulogy on Dr. Frankli n.-A gentleman who flood on the margin of Dr. Franklin's grave, as the remains of that illuftrious ilatefman and Philosopher's .were placed in it, faid, *' I would rather be Dofior Franklin in that coffin, than the firft King in Europe at prefent, with all his power and fame." " The workmen employed in the repairs of Cripplegate church dug up a coffin, from the infeription on which there is undoubted proof that the remains of that fublime baid were there depofited-a cir-cumftance much fought for, but hitherto unknown to the world. Another forgery has been difcovered in the ci.y, to a confiderable amount; meflengers are gone to every fea-port to flop the party. Monday the houfe of Mr. Kidder, of Enfield, was broke open and robbed of plate and wearing apparel, to a confiderable value. , The circumftance of a-feinale fervant having 'eut'hef throat, did not happen at the Marquis of Saliftiury's at Hatfield, but at the Dowager Lady Salifbury's, at Brands, near Kilburn. The Co roner's Inqueft fat on the body on Tuefday, and brought in their verdict Lunacy. She had the knife clafped in her hand till forced away by one of the Jury. Wednefday Francis Fenton, one of the Clerks in the 3 per Cent. Bank Annuity Oftke, at the Bank of England, was brought before William Ad-dington, Efq; and underwent a long examination. He was charged on the oaths of William Edwards, Efq; Accomptant-General of the Bank, John Beard, and Robert Hands, with knowingly and wilfully uttering, forging, and counterfeiting the name of William Baker, as the proprietor of a fum of five hundred and fifty pounds, in the 3 per Cent. Annuities, and thereby transferring the faid fum of 550I. and receiving, pr, endeavouring to receive, the fame, as Tiis own property, with an intent to cheat and defraud the Governor and Company of the Batikiof England. ; The facl being clearly proved, he was'fully committed to New Prifon, Clerkenwell, for trial, and the parties bound over to profecute. Wednefday a pickpocket was feverely ducked at Weftminfter Bridge, for ftealing a pocket-book from a gentleman ; but this hydra of villainy, picking pockets, feemed to get freih vigour from this temporary punifhment of the mifcreanf, for two other gentlemen in' the crowd loft their watches, while the delinquent was undergoing, the punifhment.
