Mrs Yates Sees Disturbance at Edinburgh Theatre Final Performance

On Saturday at Edinburgh the actress Mrs Yates concluded her final performance before a crowded audience. A disturbance arose during a key line when Mrs Inchbald, cast as Elizabeth, refused to move forward as directed. Tensions mounted as side patrons jeered and an orange was hurled, yet applause for Mrs Yates followed the curtain as the audience condemned the insult and acknowledged her merit.

Drowned Farmers After Isle of Wight Passage

Report from April 11 notes two farmers crossing from Hill-bead to Cowes in a boats overset and they drowned. Also reports a Plympton match near this place between Adminahs and Parker for a thousand guineas, won by Adminahs after a single battle. a large crowd and high stakes with beds offered by nobility and gentry, totalling over twenty thousand pounds.
