Court hears petitions on foreigners in Cornhill rebuilds
At court a petition by Carpenters and Joiners and another favoring Bricklayers and Tylers relates to hardships from the late fire order restricting foreigners. The Recorder explained the order aimed to prevent unlawful distress of sufferers, not harm honest freemen. Separately, military and naval notices cover drafts for Flanders, court appointments, ship sailings, prize news, and obituaries of Lady Jenkinson and Charles Halsey.
