A Bannock stake MTA special interest group directed by Homer Williams plans a Washington's Birthday ball for all members on Saturday night February 21. A prize will be awarded for the best waltz. Other notes mention community visits and recent family and neighborly activities within the group.
Mrs Charlotte Peterson and Mrs Mildred Ashbaker entertained a bridge gathering at the former’s home Tuesday night. Central News reports a series of family visits and travel. Christensen family members visited in Utah and Idaho while Mr and Mrs Ralph Harrison and Mrs Jos Alken joined gatherings in Pocatello. Wald Anderson spent the weekend with relatives in Idaho Falls. Alice Lloyd of Salt Lake City hosts a birthday event for her mother Mrs Alice Lloyd.
The seventh meeting of the Gem Valley Dairymen's Co-op featured president Thane presiding at Topcom High School on Feb 7. Guests from Challenge Cream & Butter Association spoke, new directors were elected, and a social with a motion picture, Henry Rathbun speech, quiz, and dancing followed with refreshments.
Founders Day events featured a lamp lighting ceremony by the PTA. Mrs Lydia, Thomas and Esther Ziegler led teaching roles with Edith Hubbard, Hazel Ratton and others as lamp bearers. A girls trio performed singing parts while the high school choir contributed to the program alongside PTA plans.
The Gem Valley Farm Institute sponsored by the local farm bureau drew about 300 attendees for a full day of sessions. Highlights included talks by Wiam P. Schneider on livestock sanitation and Jamey Lloyd on dairy problems.
Wir and Mrs Bryce Turner were in Sudden Utah Monday and Tuesday. Florence Rasmussen underwent a cataract surgery at Caribou hospital Friday. Miss Wilma Rolfe visited Pocatello Saturday and Sunday with parents. Arthur McClellan SAC student and his father were in Pocatello. Mrs Bent McClellan and others visited in Pocatello. Mr Gibbs and family returned from Denver. Henry Westenfelder and Mrs Pete Thompson visited Mrs Thompson’s husband in St Anthony hospital. Arletta Bellwinkle returned from American Falls. Dorothy Adams and Vern MEfford returned from Salt Lake City where Adams husband was in hospital. Stalder visited Salt Lake City for spinal operation. Don Harris and Lee Beckstead went to Pocatello Saturday. Fred Ziegler and Salt Lake City students spent weekend at home. Warren Smartt returned from California trip. Junior Lloyd went to Logan Utah. Mrs Haya recovering after minor operation in Utah. Harry Steele back from America Fork. operation planned later. Dorothy Dalton resigned as bookkeeper at Chadwick’s. four will leave for Salt Lake City to enter DS Business College. Mrs Evan Adams left for Salt Lake City for her husband’s operation. decision made not to operate. Mrs Mams in fourth grade, LaRoe Lowe substituting.
