Coryell Stays in Bob Poage's 11th District
Coryell County remains in Congressman Bob Poage's 11th District after the Texas redistricting plan adopted last Friday. The new map places Limestone and Robertson counties on the eastern edge and adds Willis on the west and south alongside Bur net Spases Mills and H ams. Other counties in the district include Coryell McLennan Parker Hwo Somervell Bosque Bell Milam and Falls. Senatorial redistricting was not completed in session and moves to a five member board to finish. Senate lines place Word of Meridian and Creighton of Mineral Wells in the same district. Word previously chaired the redistricting panel. State representative redistricting kept Coryell County in a district with parts of McLennan County represented by Bob Salter of Gatesville.

Council moves collapsed frame amid hazard ruling

Fire Destroys Parsonage At Bethel Heights
A fast moving blaze destroyed the parsonage garage and outbuildings of Bethel Heights Baptist Church west of Gatesville, while the church building was saved. Firemen fought from 2:30 p m with limited water, neighbors saved some furniture, and the 35 year old parsonage housed Pastor Delmar McCracken and family on weekends. additional Gatesville aid went to Evant to tackle a separate lumber company office fire with minor damage.

Last Rites Held For Mrs. Graham
Mrs. Aaron Louise Graham 87 of Gatesville died Monday in Temple after a heart attack. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Evant with Elder Floyd Huggins officiating. Burial at Pear. Survived by four daughters, one son, two sisters, ten grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Pallbearers included Graham grandchildren and related relatives.

Two Coryell Men Drafted Tuesday In Army Induction
Charles Dwayne Davidson of Gatesville and Robert Earl Langford of Copperas Cove were inducted into the Army in Dallas Tuesday to fill the Coryell Hamilton draft board's June quota.
