Curtis Dale Smith, son of Mr and Mrs Curtis Smith of Purmela, received a shrapnel wound in the shoulder during fighting in Vietnam on May 10. He was evacuated to Tripler General Hospital in Hawaii for treatment and is reported recovering satisfactorily. Smith had served in Vietnam for more than five months.

Grand Jury Returns Twenty Indictments in Coryell County
The Coryell County grand jury returned twenty felony indictments for the June term of the 52nd District Court after a two day session ending Tuesday afternoon. Notable names include Thomas Harrelson, a 17 year old Grapevine youth and former State Schools for Boys inmate, charged with burglary, escape, and theft of a pickup. Kenneth Parkinson, a Fort Hood soldier, faces marijuana possession charges after a recent Copperas Cove arrest. Terminal Under Construction at Gatesville Airport
Construction is under way on a 16 by 24 foot terminal building at the city county airport near Gatesville. Louis Bone, chairman of the airport commission, says it should be completed by July 1. Built by Harley Whaley under a $2189.45 contract, the concrete tile structure will include restroom facilities and a cement floor.
