Local Man Killed in Nevada Railroad Line
George B. Mannin, brother of Fred Manning of this city, was killed Tuesday on a new railroad in Nevada. He worked as a foreman in the Western Pacific project. He leaves a widow two sisters and one brother. Funeral services were held Thursday at Linquist chapel in Ogden. Fred Manning and wife attended the service after traveling to Ogden Wednesday.

Death of an Indian Boy in Washakie

County Commissioners Action List for Oct 18 Session
County Commissioners met with all members present on Monday October 18. They discussed road changes from Bothwell to Garland and bridging needs at Malad river. Deputies Wright and Reuben were appointed for Lucia and Clear Creek. Plans to move telephone poles in Riverside and to repair sections between Monument Promontory and Conor Springs to Little Mountain were approved or investigated. Debated gravel pits at East Garland and Elwood and postponed Yost road changes. Warn against wormy apples was granted to the county tree inspector. Sheriff fees for August and September were approved. One glanders case involving G M Steed’s horse was referred to Commissioner Adams with authority to act. The custodian was given authority to send foxglove bulbs. Several claims were allowed and the meeting adjourned.
