Grand Annual Prize Awarding Ball by Ladies' Self-Culture Club
The Ladies' Self-Culture Club held their grand annual prize awarding ball at Garland Amusement Hall on Wednesday evening. The event featured pink and white decor, Garland's orchestra, and prizes for best kept general surroundings of the home. Prizes went to Mr. and Mrs. A. Zink and Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Francke, with several couples noted for attractive places. Joseph Jensen announced the judges' decisions as Mr. Zink unveiled a new book titled Let the Women Do the Work. Dancing continued past midnight. the night was a marked success.

Fatal accident near Malad kills 4 year old girl
Last Sunday night a wagon driven by Jesse Wood crashed off a culvert between Malad and Samaria. The Wood child died instantly from a broken neck, while the baby was badly bruised but survived. Mrs Wood injured. Mr Wood unhurt. Dr Ray assisted. funeral held in Fielding. infant on road to recovery.

Ray Mayfield of Farmington aged 21 was instantly killed when he touched a live wire while working for the Home Telephony and Electric Co. He mistook the charged line for a dead wire and was shocked at the top of a pole. The tragedy occurred Friday. services followed on Monday at the Farmington meeting house with many attendees.
