State fair crowds and conference attendance rise in Utah
The 79th semi annual general conference in Salt Lake City drew large crowds with overflow meetings at Assembly hall and Barrett hall. Wet weather shortened Saturday fair events in Ogden but the Utah State Fair in Salt Lake was a huge success with 5000 paid admissions and a week of themed days. gold medals were awarded for fruit and vegetable displays from Box Elder residents.

Garland Town Board Meeting Minutes Report
The Garland Town Board held its regular meeting at the Town hall on Wednesday evening October 7 with full board present. Judge W. W. Maughan gave reasons for dismissing town board cases, Justice W. R. Vanfleet submitted his annual report for further explanation, and Marshal T. L. Snook’s monthly report was presented and accepted. Several bills were allowed and the board adjourned until the first Tuesday in November.
