A multi day July 3 to 4 celebration in Lehi and Garland drew large crowds, with bands, plays, and civic events. Garland’s 68 to 3 baseball win, fireworks, and grand balls dominated the pageant, while the city hosted parades, speeches, and a City Park sports program.
Mrs. Fanny Priscilla Wilde Boothe wife of John N Boothe and sister of M A Boothe of this City died at Brigham City on Monday July 2 from dropsy and heart failure. She leaves a husband two sons and two daughters. The remains were sent to Coalville for burial where funeral services were held. She served as US MIA President of her ward and was a faithful Latter-day Saint.
The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session. They approved a boundary adjustment between the Rawlins and Thatcher districts and referred the three rod road dispute to Com Hart for investigation. Proposals for bridge work over Beaver Dam Creek were invited with bids due July 27. Several salary changes and clerical appointments were discussed, and bids on printing and stationery were rejected as indefinite.
Brigham hosted a full day of festivities marked by a dawn gun salute, a morning flag raising, a grand parade with floats and dignitaries, and a successful ball game against Huntsville. The day concluded with a concert, dancing and late entertainment, highlighted by civic pride and community participation.
A Washakie diary entry reports Indians visiting Pocatello for sun dance preparations and returning soon. Riverside performed to a full house in Malad City last Saturday, earning praise for entertainment and a donation surplus for the Malad Stake Sunday Schools totaling over 860. The program featured Miss Vavinna Parke, Mrs. J. R. Kennard, and the Kennard quartet among others, with several Riverside residents planning celebrations in Lehi Brig ham City and Fielding as irrigation season ends. Also notes Misa Helen Kennard returns from Salt Lake City and local sales including a Cure-Fine Groom house and 20 acres in Garland Utah and a hay lot in Brigham.
The Brigham Fire Department announces a group trip to Lagoon on July 19. Residents are invited to join the outing, with details on meeting time and transport to be provided by department organizers.
The M I A literary program at Amusement Hall featured Mrs O L Winters presiding. Readings included The Bridge Wreck of the Hesperus and Psalm of Life with selections by Miss Exsie Evans Miss Mabel Crandall Miss Dessie Gleason George King and Miss Mary Grover Instrumental and hymn selections completed the evening along with a benediction by Mrs W R Vanfleet.
A report claimed Slad bought an interest in the Club Saloon. Joun T Laxt counters the report, stating there is no truth to it, and that he has no interest in the Club or any saloon business.
A comrade from Elgin Illinois fell ill with cholera morbus after the Grant Army Encampment near Washington City. Mr J FB Waughland of Eldon Iowa says Chamberlain's Colic Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy saved his life, noting ten years in immigration work and many uses of the remedy. Sold by Riter Bros Drug Co.

The B C Fire Department schedules a Grand Excursion to Laguv on July 19 with plans for a public event highlighting department activities and safety demonstrations.
Last Sunday's Fast Day services were led by Bishop W L Grover with congregational singing led by Chorister W H Crandall. Elder Jus Jenson gave the opening prayer, Sacrament was administered by Elders T E Secrist and Olaf Johnson, and certificates were presented. The Garland North Primary Association was reorganized. Mrs Ellison was released with thanks, Mrs Marriott elected president, others retained. Testimonies were given by A H Gleason, Mrs Wanless, H L Booth, Jos Jensen, and Mrs Clark.
