Miss Myrtle Jensen received a pleasant surprise birthday party at Aunt Mia Jon's home on Tuesday evening with about twenty guests, parlor games, and delicate refreshments. Lane Gleason enjoyed a pleasant surprise at his northern city home as friends arrived by sleigh for an enjoyable evening with light refreshments.
A bouncing baby boy arrived at the home of Mr and Mrs L J Samson on Thursday afternoon. A Gov daughter was born to the wife of Wm King on Tuesday January 8. Early Friday morning the Stork left the home of Mr and Mrs W R Vaanileet with a charming little daughter.
The Ladies' Self-Culture Club met at Mrs A Doothe to appoint new officers for the coming year. Vice President presided as officers for President and Vice President were rejected and social committee members chosen. Three new members were admitted and two weeks adjournment set to meet at Mrs H C Cutler's home. Dry Out Straw delivered at the Factory two dollars per ton reported by The Utah Sugar Co.
The 14 month old son of Mr and Mrs John P Bush of Ogden died in Ogden last Sunday after a severe pneumonia. Funeral Thursday at 2 pm featured speakers Apostle David O McKay Prof F M Driggs and F W Chambers with singing by Mrs May Farley and Orson Griffin. Burial in Ogden City Cemetery. A separate testimonial extols Pr King s New Discovery for coughs and colds with guarantees and trial bottle offers.
Mrs. Fred Coombs dies at her Farmington home Monday night at age 73. Born in England she lived in Farmington over 50 years with husband, Farmington Co‑op manager. Survived by six sons and one daughter. Funeral held at Farmington Meeting House Wednesday at 1 PM.
Market notes call cattle supply light this week with receipts under 20 000 head yet prices firmer than last week. Fed steers up 26 40 cents cows and heifers up 15 25 cents and stockers and feeders strong to 10 cents higher. Veal calves command 6 50 to 7 50 per head. lambs 10 16 cents higher. sheep 15 to 26 cents higher. Exported lots include Colorado and San Luis Valley shipments. overall market seen as healthy with colder weather likely to sustain gains. eggs fetch 80 cents per dozen.

County treasurer reported cattle taxed in Idaho and due taxes paid for grazing in this county. Authorized $15 monthly for Lona Nichols care and referred courthouse expansion to Chr Valentine. Adjourned to January 7 1907.

The regular monthly Fast Day services were held at the hall last Sunday with Bp. W. L. Grover presiding. Congregational singing led by F. D. Welling followed by prayers and sacraments administered by Elders James Jensen and Peter Hoss. Members Amanda C. Johnson and Nellie D Evans were present. one baby was blessed. Grover encouraged testimony bearing as new year fasting opened. Visiting missionaries M. M. Jensen and I. E. Pribble were announced. An evening session of Mr Associations featured an interesting program.
