Culture Club Lawn Party Delights City Socialites

The Ladies' Self-Culture Club hosted a Lawn Party at the Factory Hotel grounds last sy evening. The event featured electric lighting, decorated tables with sweet peas, and music by the Garland Military Band. Over one hundred guests enjoyed outdoor games, dancing, and a grand cake walk, with cheers for the host club and band.

Garland Mercantile Co Forms After Kay Estate Purchase

The Garland Mercantile Co, with W Knudson and Wim Preston as members, buys the W A Kay business. The firm plans to sell rock goods on hand, restock, and run a general merchandise store at the old location. Wright Mann, previously a clerk, is made manager. Fast Day Services at Hall Inet Auguith Meeting

The Fast Day gathering at the hall Inet Sunday August featured D E Manningided as first counsellor, with the choir led by chorister Crandall. Elders Peter Oss AM Archibald and W King administered the sacrament, and Pres Jos. FP. Smith spoke on Style and Fashion. Congregation bore testimony as singing and refreshments followed.

The Ladies' Self-Culture Club met at the Club House with thirteen members present Mrs J J Sellers presiding Mrs Sonmen read the completed Graustunk story There was no important business and refreshments were served The group adjourned for two weeks to meet at Mrs J Campbell's home The Garland Mill received a new paint coat and a sign visible from Main Street with Mowry and Millee credited for the work

Excursion to Saltair Draws Large County Turnout

Box Elder County Sunday School excursion to Saltair Thursday drew participants from nearly every town. Crowds filled cars from Malad, Garland, Tremont, and Corinne with Brigham and Salt Lake riders sharing seats. The trip proved financially successful, Gar land and Malad City hosting strong crowds and a live band. Return leg remained pleasant until the branch transfer caused a brief rush, with several locals jokingly unusual travel choices to avoid delays.
