Garland Jaycees seek 1500 for 35 athletes to Lubbock
The Garland Jaycees aim to raise 1500 in two weeks to fund a 35 member youth team age nine to eighteen traveling to Lubbock for the Texas Junior Sports Spectacular. Funds support lodging and coaching with a 600 fee due midweek. Workouts run at Williams Stadium Tue Thu with no charge to participants.

Goodin Transferred to Garland as Central Office Foreman
Martin Dean Goodin is moved to Garland to replace R J Schon as central office foreman. Schon has been promoted to a General Telephone Company post in San Angelo. Goodin began as groundman in 1957 and advanced to equipment installer in 1962 and central office foreman at Weslaco in 1965. He lives in Sachse with wife Wanda and daughters Sandra and Sheryl.
