Hal Brown longtime World War I airman and 1920 Olympic gold medalist in the 3000 meter relay has lived in Garland with his wife Mildred at 2316 Brooks Street for five years. A Geotechnical Corporation employee for 27 years, Brown was born in 1896 in Madison New Jersey and later served in France Italy and Antwerp before returning to finish college at Williams and pursue athletics. He married Mildred Williams in 1921 at Round Lake New York and plans to move to Houston after Friday marks his last day with Geotechnical.
