McCarthy Building Cos celebrates 150th with bike drive
Southern California division McCarthy Building Companies marked its 150th anniversary by assembling and donating 60 bicycles and 60 wagons to six charities across Orange Los Angeles Riverside and San Diego counties. About 300 employees built the items during a weekend shareholders meeting at Hyatt Orange County Garden Grove and via the Heart Hats community program.

Banks raise funds for muscular dystrophy in Shamrocks drive
First Bank's Westminster branch joined 17 other Southern California locations in the Muscular Dystrophy Association Shamrocks Against Dystrophy drive, raising 19 291 dollars Feb to March. Employees sold sham rocks at 18 branches, decorated in green and gold, with proceeds sending 24 children to summer camp.
