Rain brings bin busting yields to Pratt County corn
Kent Moore, a fifth generation Pratt County farmer, reports a banner harvest after a dry spell. Timely rains and irrigation eased drought hardships, boosting corn yields to 230 to 260 bushels per acre on irrigated land and dryland crops reaching 140 to 150 bushels. Moore also notes 18 inches of rain mainly from May to July and predicts 40 percent higher dryland output than usual. See Harvest, Page A5.
