Judge extends voting rights for Kansas citizens in general election
Shawnee County Judge Larry Hendricks extended a temporary injunction allowing about 17,500 registered Kansas voters who had not provided documentary proof of citizenship to vote in the November general election. The order covers state and local races, following federal court orders for federal races and arguments between the ACLU and Secretary of State Kris Kobach. A separate contempt hearing against Kobach is set for Friday over alleged failures to fully register voters despite a prior court order.
