Atrial fibrillation can persist despite treatment
Atrial fibrillation is a common heartbeat disorder that rarely returns to normal on its own. Shorter‑duration cases have better odds for conversion by shock or medicine, but long‑standing fibrillation often persists. People may live with it with rate‑slowing medicines and Coumadin to prevent stroke from clots.

Strategy in a Six Spades Bridge Slam Opts for the Ace
In a six spades contract West leads hearts and East’s queen shows up on the first spade. Playing the ace of spades at trick three guarantees the contract, even if the ten finesse fails. Finessing the ten risks a down one if East holds the jack and the king of clubs. The slam then comes safely, with careful trump management and the possibility of East thwarting ruffs. Tomorrow’s note previews defensive play.
